What happens during sick visits?

During sick visits at Smart Care Pediatrics, your provider often completes the following:

Vital signs check

During the vital signs check portion of your child’s appointment, a Smart Care Pediatrics specialist weighs them and evaluates their pulse, temperature, blood pressure, or other vital signs.

Medical history review

During a medical history review, your child’s provider discusses their medical history, symptoms, lifestyle habits, and medication regimen.

Physical exam

A Smart Care Pediatrics provider evaluates your child’s overall health during a physical exam. They assess their eyes, ears, throat, breathing, heartbeat, and more.

Diagnostic testing

If needed, the experts at Smart Care Pediatrics recommend diagnostic tests to detect potential problems. They could suggest a blood test, urine test, allergy or asthma test, nasal or throat swab, heart-function test, X-rays, an MRI, a CT scan, or another imaging procedure. Smart Care Pediatrics also offers psychiatric evaluations.

Treatment if necessary

If your child needs treatment for an injury or illness, their provider offers various solutions to reduce unpleasant symptoms and encourage healing. They might prescribe medications, treat a wound or fracture, or recommend home remedies like rest and more fluids.
